OASIS after-school program is looking for experienced and dynamic Group Leaders
Program Description: Oasis Community Corporation is a non-profit organization that provides after-school programs. Oasis offers young people homework help, creative learning activities, recreational and educational games. Oasis emphasizes low ratios of adults to children, creative staffing and programming, and a staff training strategy that enables our young professionals to develop extraordinarily meaningful relationships with the students in their care.
General Job Description: The primary function of the Group leader is to work with staff and students to enforce a positive community culture at Oasis programs and to ensure that Oasis's goals for children are being realized. Our goals are: Building positive relationships with instructors, learning new skills, taking risks, developing their creative talents, and enriching their day school learning.
Group Leaders are expected to develop extraordinarily meaningful relationships with and be positive role models for the children they supervise.
Ideal candidates will be interactive, engaging, and dynamic with at least one year of teaching experience in either an after-school program or a summer camp environment. All applicants should be able to supervise students of varying experience and skill levels and must be able to manage a classroom of 20 students.
Min. Hours: M-F 2:45 - 6:00
Salary: $8-$10 per hour based on experience
QUALIFICATIONS: A love for kids is a MUST. Enrolled in school or has already obtained a degree. Previous job experience a plus.

* You and a Co-Leader are role models as you lead your group (through the Oasis day. You will form strong relationships with the children and staff within the Oasis community. You'll get a chance to be part of an educational community teaching and learning about a wide array of subjects from soccer and art to outdoor adventure, and other enriching activities. You are responsible for supervising students during snack periods, transition times, classroom management, communicate with parents, staff, and program director, checking out each student on the student dismissal sheet, check identification and get signatures when required, and etc.
