Position : Asset Manager

Description :

Saybrook Community Capital LLC, a private investment fund that acquires and develops residential land nationwide, is seeking an Asset Manager to oversee a portion of the company's portfolio of land and land development projects in various states. Since 1999, SCC has provided land banking capital to major homebuilders using structured options. SCC is an affiliate of Saybrook Capital, an investment banking firm specializing in fund management, tax exempt debt and restructurings.

Asset Manager:
The responsibilities of this position will include the management of an existing portfolio of residential land owned by SCC. Specific duties involve:

1. Analyze residential land assets for repositioning. Formulate and execute the necessary business plan to minimize costs and risks and maximize value.

2. Monitor the progress of land development. Coordinate and manage contractors, engineers and consultants.

3. On several select properties, direct and coordinate zoning, land planning and entitlement process for repositioning. Provide guidance and oversight to consultants, attorneys and engineers.

4. Review and analyze legal and regulatory documents, permits, licenses, etc related to property ownership and land entitlement and development.

5. Periodic inspections of projects. Maintain close relationships with the builders, contractors, engineers, and consultants.

6. Review and approve disbursements of land development.

7. Prepare internal reporting and pro forma to actual analysis of development and operating budgets.

8. Review all property related documentation that SCC must approve and/or execute as the owner of residential land (such as easements, CC&Rs, applications for approvals, assessment districts, and the like).

The Asset Manager will interact with the partners and employees of SCC and Saybrook Capital, homebuilders, contractors, engineers, consultants and attorneys. Some travel is required.

The ideal candidate will have a college degree and five to six years' work experience in land acquisition, land development, project management and/or forward planning in a home building or land development company. He or she should be self-motivated, detail oriented, precise by nature, proficient in Excel, Word and Project and skilled in analyzing financial cash flows and reviewing engineering plans. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prepare and analyze cash flows, communicate effectively, clear and concise writing skills and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to succeed, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where strong team work, effective communication and time-management skills are essential.
