This position will:
Manage the execution of the engineering design, procurement, construction and turnover to manufacturing of capital projects in accordance with applicable specifications and standards in order to achieve project objectives.
Assures capital projects meet project objectives (includig cost, schedule, and scope) by managing the development, design and execution of assigned projects in accordance with specifications and standards.
Ensures accurate cost budgeting, estimating, forecasting and reporting of assigned projects.
Responsible for clear, accurate scopes of work and construction packages.
Responsible for providing new/ revised Process Safety Information to the appropriate departments.
Responsible for analyzing and managing risk on projects.
Responsible for facilitating safety and constructability reviews.
Responsible for creation of requisitions for engineered items and development of spare parts list.
Responsible for cost control/ reporting (including forecasting) and schedule attainment.
Responsible for communicating and resolving technical and commercial issues as related to project objectives.
Responsible for initiating the Management of Change, coordinates with the site PSM representative regarding PHA requirements and participates in PHAs as needed.
Responsible for good communications with designers, engineering assistant, drafting supervisor, construction coordinators, planners and all other departments.
Responsible to insure all project documentation is completed.
Required Skills:
Problem solving, leadership, communication, organization, conflict resolution and computer skills required. Must maintain a positive, can do attitude and work well in a team environment.
Ability to manage numerous on going projects and activities.
Ability to interpret project & construction schedules as required.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings as required.
Working knowledge of all engineering disciplines preferred.
Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Plant Engineering, Project Engineering and Management
