Position Description
Lead program-wide parts, material and process program, including subcontractor PMP technical oversight For a Military Program to comply with tailored MIL-STD-1547 type PMP requirements. Requires strong track record in communication with internal Components and M&P experts, Program management, and outside government Customer rep. As an expert in controlling PMP specifications and parts management, assessing applications, qualifications, evaluate/approve replacement parts and materials, derating exceptions, and life cycle of high reliability parts and materials. As a recognized expert in parts or materials will have final authority regarding all technical PMP dispositions. Integrate technical, value, safety considerations of parts and materials into product definition to comply with customer and company requirements. Prime interface with Customer on parts, materials and process concerns. Lead initiatives to improve/develop PMPC processes in the absence of existing procedures. Interface with other members of program team to define/implement engineering solutions to meet organization objectives. Work with Product Assurance team to standardize Program PMP practices across S&IS programs in a cost efficient manner while maintaining contractual standards.

Education and/or Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
Requires educational credentials meeting the Boeing classification standards for engineers. Successful program/project experience in Product Assurance, Reliability, Hi-rel parts, M&P, subcontractor compliance or experience in fields related to Component engineering, Materials and Processes engineering, Product Assurance, quality, reliability. Experience interfacing with government customer and knowledge of Space-level PMP requirements, especially MIL-STD-1546/1547. Strong approach to problem solving, strong project mgmt and organizational skills. Ability to review part/material usage on engineering specifications and drawings and evaluate against contractual requirements. Ability to work cross-organizational problems and develop partnering relationships with materiel, manufacturing, design, subcontractor, program office and customer personnel.
