The Windows Devices Core (WDC) Joint Development Program (JDP) team is looking for an experienced Dev Lead to lead the team of developers who work directly with OEMs and Silicon Vendors in putting the latest Windows Mobile operating system (sometimes while still in development) on both new and existing hardware.
You will be responsible for helping OEM's generate high quality Windows Mobile devices by leading the team responsible for working directly with OEM partners as they bring their devices up and continue throughout the commercialization process.
This position requires a high level of cross team interaction as there are multiple teams involved in commercializing Windows Mobile device. You will learn how to most effectively work with both internal and external teams and dependencies.
As you work on these cool new devices you will be in a unique position to evaluate and propose the need for changes on Windows Mobile platform that will lead to higher device stability and quality. To achieve this goal you will interface with the Windows Device Core team, which is responsible for development of Windows Mobile, to provide both feedback and lessons learned from partner engagement to help drive changes in the OS design that will further enhance our Windows Mobile platform.
Responsibilities:
1) Lots of debugging of problems encountered with new OEM devices
2) Assisting OEMs with OS bring-up and driver development
3) Analyzing performance and stability issues on devices - provide the feedback to the OS team to incorporate the needed changes
4) Developing new tools and samples to improve devices
Qualifications:
1) Team Lead experience
2) Strong passion to motive, mentor, and help develop others
3) Excellent communications/customer interfacing skill and the ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize issues.
4) Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
5) Strong C/C++ code skills
Experience with Windows Mobile is highly valued, but not required. Some travel, including international, may be required for working with partners.
