JOB TITLE: SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Responsible for providing professional Quality Engineering technical support on assignments of considerable complexity, with minimal supervision and general direction. Positively impact the Quality of incoming materials/components and ensure a high level of quality of finished products prior to shipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform Quality Engineering technical and workmanship support for all Manufacturing assembly line. This includes identifying problem areas and counseling assembly and inspection personnel on workmanship standards, customer standards, and process problems.
* Perform Q.E. technical support for incoming inspection. This includes resolving issues of compliance to specification, acting Quality representative for the Material Review Board, surveying PCB fabrication vendors, working with customers and suppliers on component issues. Provide inspection instructions and procedures for both Incoming Inspection and Final Q.A.
* Perform review of all Engineering Change Notices. Represent Q.A. on the Change Control Board. *Approve Engineering Changes and Process Alerts. Work with Program Managers, documentation or others to resolve quality issues on ECNs.
* Interface with customers on Quality issues. This includes vendor site visits, analysis of reported problems for corrective action, resolution of quality problems and interpretation of standards.
* Chair the weekly quality meeting which reviews the past week's performance, discussing corrective action and assigns action items for resolution.
* Responsible for monitoring the quality of the static-dissipate floor covering in the manufacturing building. Inform the janitorial service when treatment is necessary, which includes auditing the floor on a periodic basis.
* Member of the ISO 9000 implementation team. Includes attendance at all meetings, replacement for t team leader when team leader is absent, performing action items assigned by the team.
* Perform administration and reporting of the RMA process. Includes the review of the inspection results of receiving inspection of RMA boards, analysis of defects, determination of validity of the RMA, determination of process necessary to repair and collection of data from the repair.
* Perform the quality review of process books and documentation for all customer's products. This includes verification of correctness of processes, workmanship standards, special handling, etc.
* Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis and evaluation of factors are involved.
* Act on behalf of department manager when he is not there.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3-6 years of applicable engineering experience.
