The Windows Device Core Tools team is looking for a software engineer to develop system-level diagnostic tools for Windows Mobile and Windows CE, such as profilers, resource leak monitors, data logging and event trace visualization tools (like Kernel Tracker), etc. These tools consist of desktop applications written predominantly in C# communicating with a device side components, typically written in C++. We are looking for passionate, smart, and motivated candidates, with great development, problem solving, and debugging skills, ready to meet the highest standard of engineering excellence. The job will involve designing new components end-to-end and maintaining existing infrastructure and diagnostic tools. It also requires significant collaboration with other teams as well as frequent investigations of problems spanning all platforms.
Qualification for this position requires experience programming in C# (3+ years preferred), C/C++ (5+ years preferred), and Win32 (5+ years preferred). Experience in developing retail-quality development and diagnostic tools is a strong plus. Experience with embedded operating systems, particularly Windows CE, is also preferred. A Masters Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
