At Microsoft's Pioneer Studios, we focus on developing branded consumer experiences for Microsoft's entertainment and devices businesses: Xbox, Zune, Mobile, and emerging areas. By harnessing trends and technology insights, we develop products using an integrated design, engineering, and business approach.
Primary Responsibilities:
We are looking for a talented Graphic Designer to create beautiful, inspiring designs across the Pioneer Studio portfolio. Primary responsibility is to create and envision design concepts for multiple brand, print, packaging, motion, and interactive projects. Experience developing patterns, illustrations, and colors, materials & finishes for soft/hard good products a plus.
This designer will work closely with industrial designers, UX designers, producers, researchers, marketers, and engineers in a highly collaborative studio environment.
The position is located in our studio space in Pioneer Square in downtown Seattle. It will require some domestic and international travel.
Requirements:
Portfolio demonstrating raw creative talent, passion, and inspiration.
Ability to work in a variety of different styles with the hands-on skills to make them reality.
Strong critical eye for art & design trends, seeing what's here as well as what's coming.
Ability to develop a clear, engaging and honest point of view, advocate the resulting design and present its story with confidence.
Experience navigating all phases of design from concept development through production.
Hands-on skills with industry-standard design tools (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Blend etc.). Motion graphics experience is a plus.
Evidence of ambidextrous thinking synthesizing analytical & aesthetic thought, art & engineering, business & brand.
3-5 years of experience in designing high quality branded consumer experiences.
Bachelor's degree in design, art, or related discipline.
