Salary Information: Starting salary is between $52,736 and $62,640 per year, depending on qualifications. Excellent benefits package. A two year career executive trial period is required. Introduction: This position is with the Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Division of Employment & Training, Bureau of Migrant, Refugee and Labor Services. This position provides supervision and direction to staff and programs within the Immigrant Integration Section.

T his position administers approximately $5 M in funding issued to local agencies across the state through grants for the provision of refugee-related services. The position is responsible for overseeing the allocation of funds, issuance of grants and monitoring of outcomes as well as program policy development and analysis, design and implementation, and ongoing administration of services. The position is also responsible for seeking available grant funds for refugee and immigrant services, including the development and submittal of proposals/plans for federal, state and private funds, and the position represents the division in matters concerning administrative rules and proposed legislation related to refugee and immigrant services. The position also develops and implements services for immigrant populations as funding is identified.

The Immigrant Integration Section develops and implements cash, medical, employment and social services under the Refugee Assistance Program and develops and implements public assistance services, public health assistance services and adult education services for refugees provided by various units of government. This position is also responsible for inter-and intra-departmental coordination of services (including Wisconsin Works and Medical Assistance programs), consultation on federal policy and legislation, promotion of the development of appropriate local services, and supervision of program staff.

Special Notes: This position requires weekly travel primarily within the state of Wisconsin, including some occasional overnight stays. Candidate must possess valid Wisconsin drivers' license or otherwise be able to perform travel-related duties.

Job Duties: Direct and oversee the development of Refugee Program policies. Supervise approximately 9 professional staff. Represent the refugee assistance and economic development programs to Department/Division/Bureau administrative staff and a variety of provider agencies, advocacy and citizen groups. Supervise the development of budget proposals, statutory language, administrative rules and position papers in the areas of services to refugees and immigrants. ? provide consultation and technical assistance on refugee assistance programs
? travel within the state in order to attend meetings and perform duties of the job
