Key Accountabilities:
1. Internal design, production and digital graphic systems support for Applebee's Creative Services organization in the Marketing department.
2. This position primarily focuses on providing turn-key brand marketing communications materials for the company's and franchisees' use through the maintenance and operation of the "Ad Builder" system. (A powerful tool for relevant marketing, this system's self-serve model allows users to create camera-ready, fully localized marketing materials, enabling corporate marketing to provide efficient and cost effective local marketing support while maintaining brand consistency.)
3. Materials include FSIs, local ads, promotional materials, direct mail, outdoor, marketing kits, e-mails, POP displays, signage and menus, test materials, etc.
4. Interpret the client's business needs and develop design briefs to clarify design deliverables
5. Develop the overall layout and production design for corporate and franchisee's communication needs:
--Design of customized creative materials as needed.
--Execution of presentation/multimedia projects, web, packaging, training, etc.
6. Operate, maintain and oversee successful Auto Ad Builder Program:
--Continually update creative content images and templates on a timely basis:
-Integrating new
-Purging obsolete
--Creation and on-time, on-budget delivery of special customized requests generated from online creative request form.
--Estimating and billing
--Rate card
--Internal legal approvals for all templates
--Ensure system users follow rules of engagement

Experience in Similar Role:
--Our ideal candidate will be a creative and experienced graphic designer with exceptional print production skills. An eye for detail, organizational skill, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure is a must. Must also be versatile and willing to take on any type of job from the easiest type change to complex concepting and everything in between.
--Must have proven client-relationship and account-building skills; high degree of comfort with web-based, data driven applications; and familiarity with the processes surrounding the design, production, approval and trafficking of marketing communications materials in a broad array of media, print, online, and broadcast alike.
--A minimum of three to five years related Graphic Design experience designing and revising marketing materials using MAC based graphic design programs.
--Advanced experience using and knowledge of Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe in design, Keynotes, Acrobat Professional, QuarkXPress and all Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Microsoft Publisher.
--Utilization of corporate design and branding elements along with typesetting web design is essential. High degree of proficiency in managing art files at all stages of production
--Designing and developing promotional materials, applying branding, supporting Web/Email page templates
--Experience with print and web-based imaging formats and conversion from print, film, and rich media into print-ready or web-ready art
--Proven record of conceptual problem solving experience
--Solid record of client relationship experience
Ideal candidate will have:
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATION
--The ideal candidate will possess a BS or BA degree in Design (or the equivalent) from four-year College or University preferred
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
--Strong visual design aptitude in print and merchandising/POP
--Strong aptitude (5+ years) with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
--Understanding of pre-press and production needs; ability to hand off press-ready Flight-Checked files
--Outstanding general communication skills
--Adept at taking briefs and interpreting and implementing creative solutions
--Firm understanding of color, type, illustration, photography, and various print and layout techniques
--Action oriented, with above average multitasking capability, and ability to work under tight or changing deadlines
--Ability to work well in a team, and with a variety of internal clients
--Working knowledge of other design apps is a plus
--Must possess excellent time management, organizational, decision-making, communication, and customer focused skills, with the ability to interface effectively with internal and external contacts.
--Expertise in interfacing with Product Managers/Marketing services to translate ideas into aesthetic printed and electronic pieces independently.
--Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
--Self-motivated and detailed oriented with strong organizational skills and work ethic.
--Ability to provide basic re-touching of images a plus.
--Be an active change agent within the team to integrate new technology and process improvements over time
