Job Overview:

ATMI is seeking a Market Development Manager with experience in commercializing new business opportunities into strong revenue and profit growth. This position is located inDanbury, Connecticut and reports into the Ion Implant business unit. The ideal candidate will be relied upon to provide technical guidance and grow relationships between internal personnel and external customers. The position requires the ability to create and execute strategies to develop differentiated products as well as communicate their value to the marketplace. This opportunity allows high-level visibility, direct impact to the bottom line and participation on a dynamic team in a high-tech, growing organization where individual success is recognized and rewarded.

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct market analysis to define competitive positioning and customer segmentation. Actively collect customer requirements/needs and be the "voice of the customer" to the internal organization;
Develop and execute go to market plans/commercialization strategies for new products including channel to market, partner alliances, and product roadmaps;
Build relationships with key technology development personnel at OEMs, customers and account teams that enable revenue growth;
Establish and meet global revenue and margin targets for product line(s);
Identify and implement growth opportunities;
Steward products through NPI process. Prepare product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market;
Develop strong product cost of ownership models and business cases to gain approval of new products;
Ownership of product positioning, pricing and life cycle management;
Leverage partnerships and distributor relationships to meet business objectives;
Interface with the global sales organizations influencing and directing action to meet business objectives; Provide strategic, technical and pricing guidance to sales proposals;
Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as R&D, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Legal and Supply Chain to accomplish business objectives;
Develop demand forecasts for products with documented key assumptions, risks and opportunities;
Identify, create and present marketing materials including presentations, data sheets, promotional and training materials;
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or science discipline required, MBA preferred;
3+ years technical marketing experience in the semiconductor industry; product management and/or market development experience preferred with Implant OEM experience ideal;
Proven ability in leading cross-functional teams;
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal groups and external customers;
Experience with value selling techniques;
Expertise in developing customer technology roadmaps and competitive information for business cases;
Ability to develop and maintain multiple sales channels (direct & distributor);
Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with distributors and OEMs;
Experience commercializing new products and/or services with external business partners.
