UMTS Construction Manager
Smartlink, LLC. has an immediate opening as a UMTS Construction Manager located in Charleston and Greenville, SC. The successful candidate will be r esponsible for managing the entire construction process from conceptual development through final successful completion of building projects in accordance with the architects and engineers' specifications and prevailing building codes. The Construction Manager will plan and direct construction project activities including budget, schedules, contractors/subcontractors, and other workers concerned with construction of wireless towers and other construction projects.
UMTS Construction Manager Essential Responsibilities and Duties
UMTS experience is required, along with construction management experience.
Supervise and coordinate all aspects of the construction process.
Coordinate activities related to site construction, site acquisition, RF engineering, operations, and zoning requirements.
Obtain a construction schedule from Contractors/GCs and monitor construction progress according to the schedule.
Conduct site visits to verify contractor compliance with permits, drawings, and specs.
Monitor construction for compliance with plans and building codes.
Provide coordination and input as needed with utility companies providing services and infrastructure for the project including schedule and cost management.
Monitor and ensure schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors.
Work closely with the contractor, architect, civil engineer and associated consultants in developing site specific value engineering options for the work.
Review change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information, supplemental instructions and other contract documentation as required on behalf of the carrier's interests.
Review and approve contractor payment requests.
Maintain relationships and act as carrier's liaison in matters associated with Federal, State and Municipal matters including the City's permitting and construction inspection requirements to ensure expeditions and successful delivery of project goals and objectives.
Review tenant leases and requirements as it pertains to carrier's construction obligations ensuring carrier meets requirements while controlling project cost.
Serve as an information resource by coordinating tenant's work, participating in construction meetings, resolving disputes, providing ongoing feedback, and coordinating project punch list and close-out.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
