Walden's client is a hot Internet company working with the latest cutting-edge Microsoft ASP.NET technologies.
The Technology PM will provide project and application management for numerous complex business systems products and will own the entire life cycle from project inception to delivery to on-going operation of the system.
Responsibilities:
Provide project management of complex business system projects.
Own/manage the entire life cycle from project inception through release to operations (including all non-IT related functions such as training).
Interface with corporate customers on appropriate business systems design, requirements and development issues.
Coordinate all phases of software configuration and deployment process.
Develop and execute comprehensive project plans.
Write all-inclusive functional specification documents including screen mockups and use cases.
Collaborate with Engineering and business teams to scope projects and estimate resources needed to achieve project objectives.
Collaborate with project team to maximize the utilization of team resources.
Develop and monitor project schedules to ensure the timely completion of application development projects.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of business requirements and processes within the assigned area.
Provide oversight of projects and communicate status to management.
Manage ongoing production support and systems enhancements including prioritization, scoping, planning, and delivery activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related field or direct equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years related experience as a software Project Manager.
Must possess strong written, oral communication and presentation skills.
Willingness to accept varying levels of responsibility in support of projects and initiatives.
Must demonstrate a positive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, good problem-solving skills, self-starter, self-motivated, team player, with strong business acumen.
Previous experience writing detailed functional specification and requirements documents with mockups and use cases.
Strong knowledge of current IT concepts, terminology, practices, tools, and technology.
Strong business analysis skills and experience.
Experience managing IT development and infrastructure activities across a matrix organization.
Experience with Agile/Rapid development methodologies as well as other more structured software development methodologies (Waterfall, Spiral, etc).
Desired experience in managing Customer Relationship Management projects.
Experience managing external applications (ECommerce) projects a plus.
Experience managing projects with Microsoft Project and Visio.
