John Deere Credit is looking for a Utility Relations Manager in the Renewable Energy Division .
This position will provide utility industry subject matter expertise and manage a number of mission critical aspects of project development and commissioning as a member of a shared services team that supports the Business Development & Origination, Project Development & Construction, and Operations & Maintenance processes across the geographic regions and various utility settings where John Deere Wind Energy (JDWE) develops and operates wind generation projects.
Responsibilities Include:
Use subject matter expertise to evaluate and formulate recommendations pursuant to the feasibility and risks associated with interconnection, regulatory considerations, and potential revenue from the sale of output for project investment opportunities
Use subject matter expertise to assess projects and manage the internal and external processes to request, study, cost out, contract, and oversee construction of electrical interconnection of projects to the transmission grid
Use subject matter expertise to assess projects, coordinate with Business Development to set strategies for selling project outputs, coordinate with financial analysis efforts, and manage negotiation and implementation of wholesale utility power purchase agreements or energy market participation contracts; coordinating with internal and external counsel as required to implement those strategies.
Represent JDWE in assigned industry stakeholder groups and trade organizations with the goal of cost effectively influencing utility technical and regulatory policies to be just and reasonable and to not disadvantage JDWE
Coordinate with project management processes to ensure the timely, technically safe and reliable, and financially sound development of projects
Ensure compliance with internal standards for project development, contracts & compliance with external state and federal regulations pursuant to reliability and pricing
Required Skills & Experiences :
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business
5-10 years experience & expertise in utility industry structure, economics & operations, utility power purchase & project interconnection contracts and their negotiation, related state & federal regulatory requirements & policies
Background in utility regulatory bodies, project finance structures & key contract terms & risks, energy market structures & trends is desirable
Experience in a matrix management or multiple committee/staff style setting is desirable
